Meet Tracie Morgan, Certified Dog Walker, Owner and Community Crossroads “Leader of the Pack” columnist.

It started while walking her best friend Jack. Neighborhood dogs joined in, and little did Tracie know, they were walking the path of a new career as Billings first and only Certified Dog Walker, offering 60 minute off-leash daily group dog hikes to local trails and parks.

Tracie attended the dogTEC Dog Walking Academy in San Francisco were she had the privilege of learning pack management, first aid, dog communication and body language, safety protocols, and basic training including: reliable sits, recalls, polite leash behavior, and public relations by the SPCA’s top trainers.

Hikes begin with pick-up/drop off service at your home, workplace, or even your kennel if you are vacationing; giving dogs with out-of-town owners some familiarity. It’s easy to see Tracie’s passion for pets; she uses positive reinforcement, developing packs with good group dynamics giving them the opportunity to interact with other people and dogs, needed social interaction, mental stimulation, positive attention, and exercise. Un-exercised dogs with pent up energy can cause problems, like barking, chewing, digging, whining, and other unsavory behaviors.

“Your dog will experience regular dog play, which helps prevent aggressive behavior, building confidence, burns off pent-up energy, and provides a positive outlet for your dog’s natural instinct to socialize with other dogs, coming home calm and relaxed.”
